OH LORD

Installation

Oh Lord is the result of a collaboration with the Observatoire de Paris Meudon and the Institut de Planétologie et d’Astrophysique de Grenoble, based on various Sun observation databases.

From the first shots taken by astronomer Bernard Lyot to the high-definition images delivered by NASA, over a century of solar imagery is now available to us. This material forms the basis of the visual and sound creation of the installation.

Over 15,000 images from various databases were compiled using computer programming to create a work showing solar activity and its evolution. These include shots from NASA’s Solar Dynamics Observatory satellite, which scans the solar disk and transfers images of its surface in real time.
